Serving the oldest and the youngest, we are honored to maximize our kitchen’s capacity by serving not only homebound older adults and people with disabilities, but also hungry children in our community. Meals for Kids provides about 5,000 meals annually to approximately 200 children and youth, most of whom range in age from 6 to 12. Results from surveys of the kids during the 2014-2015 school year included that 35% of respondents reported going to bed hungry and 30% reported skipping meals or eating less because there was not enough food in the house. 100% of kids reported that eating fruits and vegetables makes them feel healthy.
