As we gather around bountiful tables this holiday season, giving thanks for the meals that warm our tummies and the loved ones we share them with, it’s also a time for reflection. For many of us, the holiday season is an opportunity to serve our neighbors and make a positive impact in our community. In that spirit, Mahatma Gandhi's words resonate: “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” This year, Meals on Wheels Central Texas is deeply grateful to be the recipient of your warmth and generosity. With your support, we continue to advance our mission: delivering care that empowers our neighbors by promoting dignity and independence.
Thanks to your investments of time and treasure, we provide nearly 2,500 neighbors daily with nutritious, freshly prepared meals. As you gather with your loved ones this Thanksgiving, we invite you to reflect on the impact of your efforts. This fiscal year (Oct 1, 2024 to date), we’ve delivered 77,899 meals to over 2,415 homebound neighbors and served 722 neighbors at senior activity centers across the Austin-Travis County region.
