We have launched an exciting pilot program called "Connecting Seniors with Technology". This program is designed to increase our clients' knowledge and comfort level with technology by providing Chromebook Laptops and weekly in-home computer sessions. We are seeking a few volunteers with computer experience to help introduce digital technology to our participating clients.
Connecting Seniors with Technology is seeking volunteers who have computer experience and are familiar with the Internet. Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with clients in their own homes and be able to explain concepts in a variety of ways. It is important to patiently engage elderly clients in conversation and be flexible and adapt to the client’s interests. Each volunteer is matched with a client and should be willing to visit and teach for one hour a week for approximately 12 weeks. The program appreciates and is interested in your feedback to enhance and expand the volunteer program.
