Meals on Wheels Central Texas and The Home Depot teamed up recently to install free 20-foot flag poles in the yards of a dozen local veterans or surviving spouses of veterans. Recipients were also presented with a complimentary standard-sized American flag.
The service project took place in East Austin’s Holly neighborhood and involved houses recently renovated by Meals on Wheels Central Texas’ Home Repair program - thanks to generous funding from The Home Depot Foundation and the Texas Veterans Commission.
Nearly two-dozen members of Team Depot, The Home Depot’s volunteer program, donated their time and talent to install the flagpoles.
