Our lifeline enhances older adult summer safety
This summer, we are bringing meals and wellness checks, fixing neighbors' AC units and homes, delivering groceries, and more for thousands of homebound neighbors.
Meals on Wheels is increasing summer safety with the following services:
Nutritious Meals
Every weekday, volunteers deliver hot, medically tailored meals right to our neighbors’ doors. Proper nourishment is vital during summertime!
Wellness Checks
A simple “hello” can mean a lot. With each meal, our volunteers will be checking in with homebound neighbors all summer long to make sure they're safe and comfortable.
Grocery Help
Going out to shop in the heat can increase the risk of heat-related illness. That’s why our Groceries to Go program sends volunteers to shop for and even put away groceries for neighbors.
Home Repairs
Some homes need repairs to stay cool in the summer. Did you know our very own Home Repair team fixes things like air conditioners, windows, and more?
In-Home Caregivers
During the summer, our in-home caregivers increase safety and comfort for neighbors at home. Our professional caregivers help with everyday tasks like getting dressed, hygiene, and cleaning.
Much of this care is delivered by our compassionate volunteers! And, your generous donations make this lifeline possible.
