Chas Moore is a lifelong activist and community organizer. He is committed to building a world rooted in equity and justice. Currently, Chas serves as the Organizing Director at the Austin Justice Coalition. Here, he seeks to make the community safer in dismantling systemic oppression and by focusing on community care.
Chas feels driven by the belief that real change comes from the ground up, always rooted in community. He has felt blessed to lead campaigns that are transformative. Chas has also earned national fellowships.
Chas’ platform allows him to engage with the community by creating space for honest dialogue, amplifying marginalized voices, and organizing grassroots campaigns that challenge unjust systems while building collective power from the ground up.
As a Meals on Wheels Central Texas Community Champion, Chas shares that he has had the privilege of showing up for our elders and most vulnerable neighbors in tangible, consistent ways.
“Whether its delivering meals or checking in on folks, or simply offering a moment of connection, it’d deepened my understanding that community care is a radical act of love and solidarity—not charity, but mutual respect and reciprocity,” shares Chas.
Chas joined us at Meals on Wheels Central Texas on May 8 where we proudly presented him with a Certificate of Recognition. Chas toured our Central Kitchen and served as meal manager for the day, delegating meal distribution for volunteers.
