Navigating Medicare and Medicaid: A Workshop Series for Congregate Lunch Centers

September 24, 2025

Meals on Wheels Central Texas (MOWCTX) is hosting in-person educational workshops to provide our older adult neighbors (60+) with clear, accessible information about Medicare and Medicaid. These workshops will be hosted once a month at each of three different MOWCTX Congregate Lunch Centers.

Congregate neighbors are invited to attend these engaging and informative sessions while they enjoy hot, healthy lunches during regularly scheduled lunch programming. A featured speaker from UnitedHealthcare (UHC) will provide educational content and materials at each session to help our neighbors better understand health coverage and help them make informed choices and access key benefits.

Workshop topics will include:

  • Medicare vs. Medicaid: What’s the Difference?

  • How to Maximize Your Benefits

  • Coverage Options & Enrollment Periods

  • Wellness & Preventive Services Available

  • Q&A

These session will provide Congregate participants with a better understanding of available health coverage and feel empowered to secure the care they need. Workshops are provided in partnership with UnitedHealthcare (UHC) and sponsored by the WellMed Charitable Foundation.
