Senior Transportation and Courier Service Coming to Austin Texas

July 2, 2020

SendaRide will pilot their door-to-door transportation and courier service in Austin, TX, July 1, 2020.

As part of the Ford Mobility City One Challenge, SendaRide has teamed up with the St. David’s Foundation and Transit Empowerment Fund to pilot their customized door-to-door non-emergency medical transportation and courier service.  SendaRide will partner with Meals on Wheels Central Texas, United Way for Greater Austin, Family Eldercare, Senior Access and WellMed to provide customized service for their senior programs.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to expand to Austin and partner with such wonderful and much needed organizations to serve the Austin community,” said Laura Fleet, CEO and Founder of SendaRide.  Fleet, who is a healthcare attorney by trade, built SendaRide from the bottom up for the healthcare industry.  She spent over a year designing unprecedented safety and security features for their technology before ever providing their first ride.  Today, they serve Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, San Antonio and will begin serving Austin, July 1st

“The Transit Empowerment Fund is proud to support this new grant which will pilot SendaRide’s transportation services to vulnerable older adults in Central Texas. We are excited that SendaRide has identified trusted, local partners who serve low-income seniors in desperate need of high-quality transportation services to help them continue to live independently in their homes,” said Andrew Levack, Board Chair for the Transit Empowerment Fund.

“So many of the homebound seniors we serve have underlying medical conditions that place them at much higher risk of developing serious complications from COVID-19.  Fortunately, SendaRide now offers our vulnerable clients reliable, protocol-safe, non-emergency transportation.  Thanks to SendaRide, the Transit Empowerment Fund, and the Ford Mobility City One Challenge, the older Central Texans we assist no longer have to worry about how they’ll safely get to and from their doctor’s appointment or the grocery store,” said Adam Hauser, President/CEO of Meals on Wheels Central Texas.

SendaRide will begin serving the Austin senior community July 1, 2020.  For more information, call 1-800-731-1885, or email business@sendaride.com.
