Austin Empty Bowl Project

This special event is such a joy for us to participate in. It's a rare time to break bread and share a meal with you and focus on the community of volunteers and supporters of our great city. The contributions raised with this event funds our Meals for Kids Program

The 23rd Austin Annual Empty Bowl Project is slated for Sunday, November 24 at the Central Texas Food Bank, 6500 Metropolis Drive, Austin, TX 78744. We hope you will join us to help feed Austin's hungry while enjoying gourmet soups, live music and a great selection of ceramics bowls from local potters.

The Austin Empty Bowl Project is an effort by Austin area potters to fight hunger. Always the Sunday before Thanksgiving, this annual family-friendly event invites you to select your favorite from thousands of locally crafted ceramic bowls, have it filled with gourmet soup and bread and listen to live music while enjoying your lunch. Your $20 donation goes to Meals for Kids, a program of Meals on Wheels Central Texas, and Kids Cafe, a program of the Central Texas Food Bank. Take the bowl home with you to remind you that others have empty bowls. Make sure to stop by and get a bowl of “Mrs. Claus's Homemade Chicken Soup” from the Meals on Wheels Central Texas kitchen!
