For more than eight years, Meals on Wheels Central Texas In-Home Care has partnered with Komen Austin to serve women and men who are temporarily unable to perform activities of daily living tasks due to recent surgery, chemo therapy or radiation treatment, or recurrence of breast cancer. Since our partnership began, we have served more than 70 people and continue to support clients with tasks of daily living that most of us may take for granted, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation. Following surgery or other breast cancer treatments, these activities are incredibly difficult for our clients to achieve on their own without assistance. The program also provides an escort to and from medical appointment as needed. We are honored and committed to serve our community to provide the assistance they need.

I Need a Sub for My Route
Substitute Drivers are responsible for delivering meals to homebound clients as a back-up driver when the regular volunteer meal delivery driver is unable to take the route. Much like a substitute teacher, the substitute driver does not have a permanent weekly route, but is called as needed.
